I spent over twenty years working as an executive assistant in financial and consulting firms. I became passionate about being really good at my job; however, what I enjoyed most was being able to help others by freeing them up to do what they did best.
I've always loved to read! Many times while I'm reading, mistakes seem to jump off the page at me, almost to the point of distraction. When I made the decision to leave the corporate world, starting an editing and proofreading business aligned with my passion, and Grammar Fanatic was born! I have a Bachelor of Science degree yet to further educate myself, I completed and received certification in two courses: Art of Proofreading and Poynter ACES Certificate of Editing. Participating in webinars and online sessions and reading editing books allow me to stay current with the industry and enhance my skills. I also joined several professional associations, enabling me to continue to learn and grow my business. Besides reading, I enjoy studying the Bible, blogging and writing, sewing, baking, spending time with family and friends, working out, and drinking coffee (especially while reading!). I welcome the opportunity to chat with you about your current project and how I can help! |
